We did it!
Yesterday afternoon, the Legislature stood strong and overrode the governor’s veto of prenatal care.
It was a moment 2+ years in the making.
Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who called and emailed their senator, had friends and family call, signed a petition, and wrote letters to the editor. Without all of your efforts, yesterday’s victory would never have been possible.
The law goes into effect in three months. When that happens, an estimated 1,100 low-income women will have access to prenatal care to help make sure their babies are born as healthy as possible.
