On Friday afternoon, Voices for Children Policy Coordinator Aubrey Mancuso testified in favor of LB 89, which would help fight poverty among low-income families with children by increasing Nebraska’s ADC child allotment. The current Nebraska maximum payment for ADC has not been changed for over 30 years, making it completely out of sync with the cost of living. We hope the committee will advance LB 89 and continue look for additional ways to make our state’s ADC program a stronger tool in addressing both family preservation and child poverty.
