Late last night, the Legislature advanced LB 599 by a 30-16 vote. This was a huge step for advocates who have been working tirelessly to restore prenatal care to all low-income moms and babies since the loss of care in 2010!
But our work is far from over. LB 599 still faces two more votes, and Governor Heineman has come out in strong opposition to the bill, making a veto likely. We need your help contacting Senators, thanking them for their support, and urging them to keep working to make sure all Nebraska babies have the chance to be born healthy!
