Spotlight Series: James Moseman

On October 4, Voices for Children in Nebraska will honor those who have made an exceptional impact in ensuring Nebraska is the best place to be a kid. We continue the Spotlight Series today with our Youth Award winner, James Moseman.

James Moseman’s passion for youth voice and representation grew as a result of his time with the Nebraska Governor’s Youth Advisory Council (GYAC). At his first GYAC meeting, the idea of a student school board position came up, and he decided to pursue it. He worked to create the first student position on the Oakland Craig School Board, eventually being the first one to hold it. In the years since his time on the school board, James has continued to promote youth voice and involvement in government, working to create an advisory council like GYAC for congressmen and other federal officials.

He is now a senior attending the University of Nebraska Lincoln, studying Political Science and Finance. James also works as the Financial Generosity Coordinator for Christ Lincoln Church. After graduation, he plans to continue his work at Christ Lincoln and find new ways to advocate for youth in government.
