Greetings from the New LVC Volunteer, Elizabeth Clapp

As the incoming LVC Volunteer for this coming year, I am aware that I have some big shoes to fill. Thankfully, settling in at Voices for Children has been made easy due to the generosity and welcoming spirit of everyone here. I am excited to get started on a busy and rewarding year as a Research Associate at Voices for Children!

As a recent graduate of Concordia College in Fargo/Moorhead with a Bachelor’s Degree in Global Studies and Political Science, I was interested in joining Voices for Children because I enjoy research, policy, and working with the government.

During college, I also got involved with some youth-related topic areas that overlap with Voices for Children’s mission. For example, I learned about the anti-trafficking movement through interning with Shared Hope International in Washington, D.C., and as President of Concordia’s chapter of International Justice Mission. Also, through researching undocumented immigration in this country, I learned about the restrictions to access to healthcare and education for undocumented families and their children.

I am excited to learn more about the issues facing Nebraska families, and to join the great work that Voices for Children does in Nebraska.

Thank you to everyone for the warm welcome!

Thank you to taking the time to share!
