Voices for Children in Nebraska is searching for 12 inspiring youth leaders from high schools across the state to form our first Youth Advisory Council.

The Voices for Children Youth Advisory Council will offer youth from diverse backgrounds a chance to participate in a national leadership development program, while acting as ambassadors for Voices for Children and serving as leaders in their own communities. We are looking for young people between the ages of 15-19 with a range of life experiences, who are interested in partnering with other youth from around the state who are passionate about making a difference.

The Council is being created to elevate youth voice in Nebraska policy advocacy and contribute to Voices for Children’s programming, while providing young people with a unique opportunity to be drivers of their own ideas from conceptualization to implementation and reflection. 

The Council offers a remarkable opportunity for young people to show their commitment to service and volunteerism and inspire other kids to act. 

Council members must demonstrate a commitment to volunteerism and philanthropy. Members will also be encouraged to represent Voices for Children at conferences and extraordinary events. Voices for Children will work with Council members to overcome barriers to participation, including time compensation, assistance with childcare, and/or transportation as needed.
