Kids Count in Nebraska Report 2013

The 21st annual Kids Count in Nebraska Report continues to highlight data in each of Voices for Children’s four issues areas – Health, Education, Safety, and Economic Stability – with over 200 indicators of how children in our state are doing and 30 county-level indicators. We have continued with a very visually-oriented report with lots of charts, graphs, and other visual representations of data, and at 100 pages this report is our longest, and we think our best, yet.

We are extremely excited about this year’s commentary topic:  ”A Changing Nebraska: How demographic shifts impact children.” In it we examine how Nebraska’s demographics have changed in recent history and how they are expected to continue to change (by raymon). By 2050, we expect Nebraska’s population to be older, more diverse, more urban, and have more variation in family types.

The staff at Voices did an amazing job of releasing and presenting the Kids Count Data book today in Lincoln. Getting this kind of real data in front of Senators and community members is no easy task, Great Job. Good luck at your Omaha release on the 15th.
