Update: We’ve received a few awesome photo submissions for the cover (see our mock-up at right) but there is still room on our next Kids Count Cover for a few more! Get your photos in by Friday, November 2 Tuesday, November 6 for a chance to see them on our 2013 Kids Count Report.

Next year we will release the 20th edition of the Kids Count in Nebraska Report and we need your help to celebrate the milestone.
The Kids Count in Nebraska Report has always featured photos of Nebraska’s kids – either taken by volunteer photographers or our staff as we visit child-serving sites across the state.
But to make our 20th Kids Count extra special, we want to feature YOUR photos!
We want kids of all ages – from infants to teens and everything in between.
We want photos of kids being kids – running, playing, laughing, or just hanging out – so no school or senior pictures, please.
We want Nebraska kids. Your grandkids might be the cutest kids ever, but if they live in Colorado, we can’t use their photos. (Sorry!)

Photo Submission Instructions
If you have photos that you would like to send for us to consider including in Voices for Children publications, please note the following requirements:
1.) Deadline for photo submissions to be considered for Kids Count in Nebraska 2012 Report: Friday, November 2, 2012 Tuesday, November 6. Photos received throughout the year will be considered for other products and publications.
2.) Photos must be submitted electronically; we do not accept any photo prints. Please email photos to:photos@voicesforchildren.com with “Kids Count Photo Submission” in the subject line.
3.) Photos must be jpeg, tiff or pdf image files at least 300 dpi (no gif files)
(If you don’t know what that means, as a general rule, if you took the photo with a 7-8 megapixel camera or better on the best setting, your photos will be ok to use)
4.) The following information must be provided in the email:
- Photographer’s name
- Mailing Address
- Telephone Number
- Email address
- Number of photos submitted
- Identifying information for each photo (subject name, age, date taken, clothing description for photos of multiple children, etc.)
5.) Photos should be named with identifying information in file name
General photo preferences: high-quality images featuring Nebraska’s children of a variety of ages; single or group shots; diversity is encouraged; adult caretakers in photos are welcome; backgrounds that showcase Nebraska are also encouraged.
Please note that we receive a large volume of photographs and cannot publish all of them
When submitting photos, you must grant Voices for Children in Nebraska permission to use the photos. You may do so by: including the following Photo Release information in your email, or printing the information and faxing or mailing it to Voices for Children.
The Voices for Children Photo Release Form MUST be signed or photos cannot be used.
The form must be signed by the subject(s) of the photograph, or, if the subject is a minor, by a parent or guardian.
