Support Our Work
Youth Engagement
At Voices for Children in Nebraska, we believe in the power of young people to shape their communities and our shared future. Through youth-led initiatives, we provide middle and high school students with the tools and knowledge to confidently advocate for themselves and the issues they care about.
From learning how to navigate the Nebraska Unicameral to organizing for change, we are here to inspire young people to use their voices for good.
Youth Leadership Council
Calling all young people looking to make a difference! The Voices for Children in Nebraska Youth Leadership Council is an advocacy group open to middle and high school students interested in creating change, learning more about policy and their role in the legislative process.
As a member, participants hone their self-advocacy and leadership abilities while taking action on issues affecting their communities. Through hands-on experiences, like testifying at public hearings, meeting with representatives, and shaping policy ideas, young leaders gain the skills they need to drive meaningful change.
Plus, involvement in the youth council also includes the opportunity to earn compensation up to $500 over the course of the year. If you are, or know of, a young person interested in making friends, developing leadership skills, and becoming a voice for their generation, join us for this amazing opportunity! Email Nia to get started.
Events
Our youth-led events bring advocacy to life! From rallies for justice to hands-on workshops about self-advocacy and policy change, we inspire young people to make their voices heard and become advocates. See our upcoming events and be part of the movement for a stronger, more just Nebraska.
