Work With Us
High School Internship Program
Voices for Children hosts a high school intern program for young leaders interested in advocacy, policy, and community engagement. Our high school internships run from August to December or January to May, and are flexibly scheduled to meet project goals and work around academic commitments, with an approximate average of no more than 5 hours per week.
High school interns are expected to:
- Join and become an active member of the Voices for Children Leadership Council (attending all meetings as able, monthly on Saturdays)
- Recruit other youth members in the community, school, and other social spaces
- Have an interest in advocacy and/or youth policy, and making a better future for youth
- Attend community tabling events with the Voices for Children team
- Participate in youth lobby days when the legislature is in session (school schedule permitting)
- Assist in planning the youth policy camp and youth justice month activities
- Assist in the facilitation of segments of Voices for Children youth leadership meetings
- Offer suggestions on new youth-serving connections and engagement opportunities
The high school internship program comes with a stipend of $1,125 for the five-month commitment, which may be paid in monthly installments.
Applications are open this fall for the January-May 2026 term.
