Spotlight on Juvenile Detention

All children and youth deserve an opportunity to grow up healthy and productive, to have a chance to learn from their mistakes, and become adults who can contribute to their communities.  That’s what our juvenile justice system is supposed to be about – an opportunity for learning and change.  But if you imagine an environment where a child can change, learn, and grow, it doesn’t look much like at juvenile detention center.
