Voices for Children testified on two bills today, LB 94 and LB 79.
LB 94 – Case File Reading by Adoptive Parents
We support LB 94, which provides adoptive parents with the opportunity to read case files and promotes
full disclosure before adoptions are finalized.
Voices for Children’s support for LB 94 is shaped by twenty-three
years of advocacy on adoption issues and the extensive first hand
adoption case experience of our founding director, Kathy Bigsby
Moore.

LB 79 – Creation of a fund for CASA
Voices for Children in Nebraska supports LB 79 and its efforts to
strengthen and support Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)
programs in Nebraska. By establishing a fund to provide grants to
CASA programs, LB 79 allows opportunities for greater recruitment
and training of volunteers, as well as innovation and expansion to areas
of the state that do not currently benefit from the work of CASA
volunteers.
